Applications from Indian citizens are invited for filling up the post of the University

Name of post :Dean, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

Scale of pay: Pay Band Rs. 37,400 – 67,000/- + Grade pay Rs. 10,000/- +Other allowances as admissible from time to time by the State Government.

Category of post: Unreserved.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

• A minimum of Master’s degree in a subject/discipline of the concerned Faculty having at least 55% marks in aggregate or OGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00.
• Ph.D. degree in any subject of the concerned Faculty.
• Evidence of published papers on the concerned subject (not less than 10) in a reputed journal.
• Minimum of 15 years experience in teaching research including guiding research Scholars (Ph.D./Master) and holding position of which last 3 years in a post not below the rank of a Professor.
• Preference will be given to a candidate having worked as the Head of any       Division in a Research Institute or Department of a Faculty for more than 2 years.

The Dean for a term of four years or till the attainment of sixty years of his age whichever is earlier.

Prescribed application forms and instructions to candidates are available on the website. An amount of Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred) by way of Crossed Demand Draft only (1/4th for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences”, payable at State Bank of India, Kolkata shall be submitted with the application form. A self-addressed envelope (25 cm x 11 cm size) and postal stamped of Rs. 10/- on the envelope to the undersigned shall also be submitted. Complete application should reach the Registrar (Actg.), West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, 68, Kshudiram Bose Sarani, Kolkata – 700 037 within 5 p.m. on or before 7th November, 2011 only by REGISTERED POST with “ACKNOWLEDGEMENT DUE” clearly mentioning the NAME OF THE POST APPLIED FOR in BOLD BLOCK LETTERS on the envelope. University reserves the right to alter/modify or cancel any condition at any stage. Persons already employed should apply through proper channel, an advanced copy of the same may be sent directly to the Registrar (Actg.).   No T.A/D.A. will be paid for attending the interview before the Selection Committee as to be held for the purpose. Two passport size photograph, one to be pasted on the right upper corner of the application and the other to be stitched with the application. Full signature of the applicant will be given on the space provided in the application form. Candidates are requested to complete all columns of the application form. Copy of testimonials and other papers should be self attested. Incomplete application will be rejected.
